The Morning Mountain

Nov 25, 2019

Two days before Terry West died at the El Paso County jail, he complained to a nurse of chest pain. She told him to stretch. Minutes before West died, he screamed for help and vomited blood. A medical staffer who was nearby walked away. Yet local authorities ended their probe into any potential missteps when they determined that the jail’s security staff were not at fault. On today’s episode, we talk to Gazette reporter Rachel Riley about deaths at the El Paso County jail.
